General information

The films selected for the 77th Locarno Film Festival will be announced at a press conference on July 10, 2024. The press conference will be streamed on our website and on our Facebook and YouTube channels. The daily programme of the edition will be available on the website from mid-July. What awaits me at Locarno77?

The new edition of the Locarno Film Festival will welcome you from 7 to 17 August with more than 300 films, screened in 13 theaters, public meetings with prestigious guests from all over the world, the Rotonda by la Mobiliare with its quality art and music program as well as special events and initiatives to help you discover cinema in all its possibilities.

How can I to purchase Festival Pass, Day Pass or Ticket?

Festival passes, Day Passes and tickets can be purchased online on the Locarno Film Festival Ticket Shop. For those who have problems with purchasing or booking online, there will be a dedicated line to contact. For those who are unable to purchase online, it will also be possible to purchase Festival passes and tickets directly at the Locarno Film Festival Info Points starting August 7. By the way, even this year, every Festival ticket will entitle you to free travel throughout the Ticino region!

Will there also be la Rotonda?

Yes, la Rotonda will be organized by the Locarno Film Festival together with Main partner la Mobiliare, according to arrangements to be announced in the coming months.

What films will be available for accredited people in the Digital Library? Will they be viewable anywhere in the world?

As a Festival, our goal is to offer as many films available in the Digital Library as possible, without geographical restrictions. However, the final decision as to how and where films are made available is up to the filmmakers and production companies.

If I have Press accreditation, how can I make an interview request?

To request an interview you can contact the press office at press@locarnofestival.ch.

Are there programs for children, youth and families?

Yes, this year the Locarno Kids la Mobiliare program will be even richer with screenings dedicated to young children and their families and educational activities (workshops and ateliers) curated in collaboration with the event's educational partners. Promoted by la Mobiliare and intended for teens aged 13 to 15, the Atelier du Futur will also return: three days of workshops, meetings and visions to express their creativity in a joint project. Will there be BaseCamp?

Yes, the new edition of BaseCamp is being organized. More details will be announced in the coming weeks.

Will there be the Locarno Academy?

Yes, The Locarno Academy, the Locarno Film Festival's educational program aimed at creating a networking platform for emerging young talent in the fields of filmmaking, film criticism and the film industry, will be held in Locarno this year from Aug. 7-17. Click here for more information.
