All the news 22.01.2009  The poster for the 62nd edition

The 2009 poster is part of the Festival’s new visual identity, developed by the agency Jannuzzi Smith to span several years.

The poster for the 62nd edition is the second in a series of three, inaugurated last year, conjugating the image of a real leopard. Just like an actor, the animal that symbolises Locarno takes on a different role every year. Following upon the 2008 poster, that embodied sensuality and romance, this year the focus is on energy and action: the poster for 2009 thus reveals a close-up of a leopard’s head with its long moustache, jaws bared in a pose characteristic of the roaring predator.

For the last fifteen years, London-based agency Jannuzzi Smith, run by Michele Jannuzzi from Switzerland and Richard Smith from the UK, has successfully combined design and new technologies in creating innovative approaches to international cross-platform media communications – a field in which it has won numerous awards.
